Dr. Dawn Walker is residency-trained and Board-certified in Family Practice.
Dr. Walker grew up in a military family thus moved to Tucson at a very young age. She considers Arizona her home! She pursued her Medical Degree at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Knowing that she wanted to work in rural Arizona, Dr. Walker returned to Arizona for her post-graduate training with the Midwestern University Consortium in Family Practice with preparation for rural medicine. Dr. Walker has happily practiced her family medicine dream in Willcox, AZ since 1999. She continues to teach the art of rural medicine with her Teaching Practitioner agreement with Midwestern University of Health Sciences in Glendale, AZ. Dr. Walker enjoys preparing our future physicians.
Dr. Walker is affiliated with Northern Cochise Community Hospital. She presently serves as Chief of Staff at this local hospital. On a State level, Dr. Walker serves as a member of the Arizona Osteopathic Board. On a national level, Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners and a Member of the
American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Personally, Dr. Walker is an avid hiker enjoying back country hiking at numerous national parks. She is also a scuba diver and has her private pilot's license allowing for her to continue with her desire for unique adventures. Dr. Walker also enjoys traveling and spending time with her children and their beautiful families.
